Common questions
What is Command Fitness?
Command Fitness is Terminal Drill's local weekly workout system. Today's Workout mixes warmup, review, core focus, and challenge drills from your local progress and selected focus.
How do Micro, Standard, and Deep workouts work?
Micro is five drills, Standard is ten, and Deep is fifteen. Beginner mode always uses five guided drills, even when the plan length is Standard or Deep.
How do I change my Command Fitness focus?
Use Adjust plan to pick Adaptive, Beginner Foundation, Git Workflows, or Ops Incidents. Path, Codex, and Scenario screens can also pin a module, command, or scenario campaign with Focus this in plan.
Why does my streak say zero after I did drills yesterday?
The streak counts calendar days with at least one correct drill, evaluated in your device's local timezone. Command Fitness weekly progress is separate: it counts workouts toward the plan target you set.
A drill marked me wrong, but I'm sure my answer was correct.
The matcher is intentionally permissive about flag order and quoting, but strict about exact command names. If you typed tail -50 /var/log/syslog and the canonical answer was tail -n 50 /var/log/syslog, both should be accepted. If yours was not, please send the prompt and your typed answer to the email above — accepted-answer expansions ship in every minor update.
I lost my progress.
Progress is stored in the app's local Application Support directory. iOS preserves it across app updates but removes it on uninstall. Terminal Drill has no account or cloud sync. If you backed up your iPhone with encrypted backups (iCloud or Finder), restoring that backup should restore app data as well.
How do I disable the daily reminder?
In the app: Profile → Settings → Daily reminder → off. From iOS: Settings → Notifications → Terminal Drill → Allow Notifications → off.
Will Terminal Drill ever execute real commands?
No. Drills are evaluated by string matching against curated answers. The app does not have shell access and never will — it's a learning environment, not a terminal.
I paid for Full Access on another device. How do I get it back?
Open the app, tap any locked path (anything past Files & Directories), and on the unlock sheet tap Restore previous purchase. As long as you're signed in to the same Apple ID that made the original purchase, your Full Access entitlement comes right back. There's no account on our end — Apple owns the entitlement record. You can also force a restore from Profile → Settings.
I'd like a refund.
App refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Open reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple ID you used for the purchase, find the Terminal Drill receipt, and request a refund. Apple's standard policy applies.
Will the price ever go up? Will updates start costing extra?
No subscriptions and no recurring charges. Full Access is a one-time App Store purchase for the current library beyond the free starter modules. App updates and new drills in current paths are included; future standalone content series may be separate.
